Course status: Elective
The aim of the course:
The aim of the course is to provide students with basic knowledge and approach the essence of EU theory and practice as a supranational organization, which has, over the past half a century, made a significant impact on macroeconomic trends in all areas and spheres of the global community. There is a need for more complex and detailed studying of the EU regulations in agriculture, especially the EU agricultural policy and rural development policy, with the aim of using it as a model for policies in the field of agribusiness in Serbia which is in the process of joining.
Complex information and knowledge about the system of agriculture in the EU needs to be adapted to the needs of students of different study programs at the Faculty of Agriculture, so that they could apply the acquired knowledge in their future professional development.
Educational outcomes: The course provides students with the essence of the functioning of the EU, in particular its agriculture, providing them with the necessary knowledge, skills, raising their capacity and making them qualified to implement the acquired knowledge about the EU and its agriculture in their work and to translate them into practice in an adequate way.

Lectures:
General part:
Establishment and development of the European Union; EU institutions; The European economy; Agricultural resources and agrarian structure of the EU; Common Agricultural Policy and its reform; Rural development policy as the second pillar of the Common Agricultural Policy; EU Agricultural Advisory System; Trade of agri-food products between Serbia and the EU; Introduction to the functioning of key EU regulations in specific areas of agriculture, etc.
Special part:
EU regulation in certain areas of agriculture. For each teaching unit, short introductory theoretical lectures of the professor are envisaged, and then a discussion is planned in which the students actively participate.
Practical classes:
Presentations of student seminar paper with discussion.
